We created this cross as a purpose bred amateur hunter or jumper prospect by Diamant d'Heure ABF [Diamant de Semilly x Rio Grande x Lord Incipit] out of our lovely, amateur friendly mare, Raiello Rain [Raffaello x Billy Blue xx]. This sire shows immense scope and ability, while maintaining great rideability under an amateur owner.

Raiello Rain is a lovely, uphill built mare with a fantastic temperament for junior/amateur riders.  She has produced two hunter type foals for her previous owner.  Her sire, Raffaello, is known for producing very amateur friendly hunter progeny.  

We chose Diamant d'Heure ABF for Raiello Rain to add scope and athleticism, yet ensure that the temperament and rideability is maintained or improved upon.  Originally started in the jumper ring, Diamant d'Heure has all the scope, carefulness, and power. He was then sold as a hunter for his beautiful, balanced movement and beautiful form over fences. He consistently throws size, balance, great brains, and power. 

Diamant d'Heure's sire is the one and only Diamant de Semilly who is continuously ranked as one of the leading show jumping sires of the world (ranked 2nd in 2018-2021 inclusive and numerous top ten rankings before that!). 

As a competitor, Diamant was one of the top international horses of his day. He qualified for both the 2000 and 2004 Olympics, and jumped 11 out of 12 clear rounds in nation cups for the French Team in 2002. As a sire, Diamant de Semilly has sired several approved stallions, and they are regularly the highest scoring stallions at their approvals. His offspring include the fantastic top stallion Emerald van't Ruytershof, Quickly de Kreisker, Don VHP Z, Rock n' Roll Semilly, Eurocommerce Toulouse, and Kalaska de Semilly, among others!  

Diamant d'Heure's dam, Grand Rose ABF, is by Rio Grande, an incredibly sought after stallion who competed in International level showjumping events, winning as part of Team Canada in Nations Cups events and qualifying for the 1996 Olympics.  Rio Grande also made a fantastic Hunter himself and his progeny carry his legacy on very successfully.
